Zilya Valeeva, RT Minister of culture: “Festival of Muslim Cinema “Golden Minbar” has taken its place”

Zilya Valeeva, RT Minister of culture announced at briefing in RT Cabinet that Festival of Muslim Cinema “Zolotoy Minbar” has taken its place among other festivals of Russian and international level.

The Forum will be held in Kazan on October, 16-22.

The selection of films was based on quality and content. Out of 36 countries only 24 were chosen. 34 films will be shown for jury – 10 feature, 13 documentary, 10 short-length films. 21 films will be demonstrated beside the contest.

The jury will be headed by Bolotbek Shashmiev, film director from Kyrgyzstan.

Master classes, creative meetings will be held within festival. One evening will be held in memory of Chingiz Aitmatov.

Such famous film directors as Eldar Ryazanov, Alla Surikova, Boris Nevzorov, Olga Pogodina, Vitaly Bezrukov, Igor Petrenko, Aleksey Buldatov will take part in the event.

The festival is financed by sponsor companies, RT Government, Kazan Mayor's Office, Muslim Culture Development Fund.

The films will be shown on October, 17 in “Grand Cinema” (“Suvar Plaza”).

The best viewers' films will be shown in cinema theatres “Mir”, “Korston” and on “TNV” channel.

9 statuettes “Zolotoy Minbar” will be presented on closing ceremony in KRK “Pyramid” on October, 22.
