Marat Akhmetov: "Milk becomes the main source of cash earnings"

On September 21 at a meeting at Tatarstan Government House Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov asked all village dwellers to be engaged hard in milk production. “The outgoing year was dry and we do not expect significant earnings. In this case, milk becomes the main source of cash earnings and profitability,” he said.

According to Tatarstan Vice Premier, much emphasis must be put on this issue everywhere after completion of the harvesting campaign: “It is high time to do it intensively. The purchasing price has exceeded 20 rubles, which never happened before. The interest of processers has increased, which is evident from the dynamics of prices.”

The Minister noted that milk production is higher in the regions where heads of municipalities pay much attention to cattle breeding and asked leaders of the regions to take measures in this respect.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that milk is the source of income and the basis of well-being of village dwellers.
