Rustam Minnikhanov discusses development of the strategy of Tatarstan social and economic development with experts of Leontief centre

On September 21 at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and experts of Leontief centre discussed terms and approaches to development of the strategy of Tatarstan social and economic development till 2030.
Leontief centre is an international centre of social and economic research founded in 1991 by initiative of St. Petersburg Mayor Anatoly Sobchak and Noble Prize laureate in economics Vasily Leontief. The centre organizes and conducts researches in the sphere of regional economy and public finances, renders consulting services to regional and federal and municipal authorities upon development of strategic plans, projects and programmes of social and economic development.
Cooperation between Tatarstan and Leontief centre under the project “The strategy of Tatarstan development till 2030” started in 2012. In November 2012 experts of the centre in groups “Tatarstan village” and “Transport communication environment” came to Kazan to collect information. Later on, in March 2013 a brief report on express diagnostics and development of the project “The strategy of Tatarstan development till 2030” was presented to Rustam Minnikhanov.
At today’s meeting Head of the department for territorial strategic planning Boris Zhikharevich presented the content and schedule of works on the Strategy development.
By the way, the purpose is to determine areas of further development of the republic in terms of quality of education, increase of human capital, industrial policy, innovation and investment strategy, and the concept of spatial development. The work under the document will be carried out in three stages. The whole strategy is expected to be ready by 2015.
Experts of Leontief centre will be actively cooperating with all Tatarstan ministries.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
