Aleksey Pesoshin: Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the development of Archival Affairs
On January 11, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a summing up meeting of Tatarstan State Committee for Archival Affairs.
Before the meeting, Pesoshin visited new building of Tatarstan State Archives located in the Settlement of Stolbische in Laishevo region of the republic, where he looked around the manuscripts restoration center and area for receiving archival documents and several archives documents storage. Here Tatarstan Prime Minister also got acquainted with a digital project for storing e-documents, the Yadkar genealogical portal and other projects.
During the summing up meeting, the Chairman of the Tatarstan State Committee for Archival Affairs Gulnara Gabdrakhmanova said that Tatarstan ranks second in the Volga Federal District in the volume of documents stored in archival institutions and third in the number of audiovisual documents, in the number of sources for staffing archival institutions, our republic ranks first.
Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that the archival industry of the republic is actively developing. Today, Tatarstan occupies a leading position in a number of indicators; special results have been achieved in the field of digital technologies.
According to Prime Minister of the republic, a lot of work has been done to strengthen the material and technical bas He also said that Tatarstan State Committee for Archival Affairs together with the relevant ministries and local governments, should continue to work on including new organizations in the lists of sources of archives.
At the end of the meeting, Pesoshin handed in a number of state awards of the republic to archival specialists.
