Tatarstan President looks around educational institutions in Singapore

On September 24 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the School of Science and Technology and Singapore Polytechnic during his working visit to Singapore.

The School of Science and Technology features implementation of basic applied learning programmes within the framework of comprehensive secondary school.

Vice-Principal Mrs. Chew Wai Lee made a school presentation for Tatarstan delegation.  By and large, 800 students attend the School of Science and Technology. It is one of Singapore’s “future schools”, which receives financial grants from Singapore government.

After the presentation, Rustam Minnikhanov and members of Tatarstan delegation looked around the bio-technologies laboratory, center of innovative engineering developments and technical workshops.

Tatarstan President noted high importance of preparation of engineers and asked to work out the possibility of establishing similar technical schools in Tatarstan.

Later on the same day, Tatarstan delegation visited Singapore Polytechnic, which offers part-time and full-time professional engineering courses.  Next year the polytechnic will celebrate its 60th anniversary. The teaching staff includes 1500 tutors with more than 16000 students. It has ten academic schools, which offer a wide range of different programmes, including robotechnics, airspace technologies, business school, etc.

Rustam Minnikhanov and his party also looked around robotechnics laboratories, schools of digital media and information technologies.
