Tatarstan President and FINA delegation discuss issues of preparation for World Aquatics Championship

On September 26 at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, FINA President and member of the International Olympic Committee Julio Maglione, and FINA CEO Kornel Markulesku discussed issues of preparation for the World Aquatics Championship that will be held in Kazan on July 17-August 2.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked members of FINA delegation for support rendered during preparation for Universiade 2013, and said that the organizing committee of forthcoming aquatics championship was already established and works on swimming pool installation started. Rustam Minnikhanov added that athletes from 200 countries are expected to take part in the competitions.
Julio Maglione said he was glad to visit Kazan again and added that it is a perfect place to holding Aquatics Championship. He also stated that only one and a half year is left till the event and different organizational tasks are to be settled.
One of them is installation of swimming pools that will be located at Kazan-Arena stadium. Kornel Markulesku told that on October 9 FINA representative will come to Kazan to visit sports venues that will be used during the competitions. He also offered to hold a testing event – World Water polo women’s championship in Kazan.
Another important issue is preparation for High Diving competitions within the framework of World Aquatics Championship 2015.
Julio Maglione suggested holding regular meetings of the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee in Kazan.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
