Dmitry Medvedev visits Tatarstan exposition at “Sochi-2013” forum

On September 27 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov presented projects of engineering centers to Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev at Tatarstan exposition within the international investment forum “Sochi-2013”.
The engineering center “KAI-Laser” is being established at Tupolev Kazan State Technical University in cooperation with IPG Photonics, the world leader in production of fiber lasers. Speaking about the project, Rustam Minnikhanov demonstrated samples of laser machined metal products and laser metalworking machine to Dmitry Medvedev.
The medical center “Eidos” is engaged in development and production of medical simulators. According to Tatarstan President, the center’s products are much cheaper than their foreign analogues and delivered to Russia and abroad, even to the USA. Rustam Minnikhanov also noted importance of the simulators for training surgeons to perform operations and Dmitry Medvedev agreed with Tatarstan President.
The oil and petrochemical center is one more engineering center, being established in Tatarstan. Telling about the project, Rustam Minnikhanov said that all technologies in this sphere are to be purchased abroad. In the meanwhile, Tatarstan has scientific and production facilities for developing and implementing own technologies.
“We are going to further develop these projects and hope for federal support,” Tatarstan President addressed Head of the Russian Government.
Russian Vice-Premier Arkady Dvorkovich, Russian Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal Region President Mikhail Babich also visited the Tatarstan exposition.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
