Rustam Minnikhanov: Machine-building complex remains a strategic area of economics for Tatarstan

On October 2 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in solemn celebration of the Day of mechanical engineer.
The guests had visited the exposition of machine-building enterprises, inventions of young people and original technical ideas before the solemn event.
Tatarstan President welcomed participants of the event from the stage: “The machine-building complex has always been and remains one of strategic areas of economics,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted. He reminded that the complex includes 150 regional enterprises with more than 140 thousand people employed. This year alone Tatartsan machine-building enterprises dispatched the goods for more than 220 bln rubles.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that machine building is a competitive sphere and constant modernization of production facilities is required to sustain competition. According to Tatarstan President, first of all production facilities and management system should meet the latest standards. “The issues related to labour output, energy-intensity of production are of high priority,” Tatarstan President added.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that both civil and defense products should be produced. According to Tatarstan President, this year’s production output of defense products increased by 17%.
“Today Tatarstan has a powerful and promising machine-building complex. Many enterprises, that faced hard times, have achieved a strong position in the market and are rapidly developing,” Tatarstan President stated and congratulated all participants of the event on their professional holiday – the Day of mechanical engineer.
Then, Rustam Minnikhanov presented awards to the best workers and teams of the machine-building industry.
In his congratulatory speech Tatarstan Prime-Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov noted machine-building enterprises of Tatarstan are implementing large production modernization programmes, actively employing advanced management and “Lean production” technologies. Vice-Premier also congratulated everybody on the holiday and presented awards.
On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
On 20 December, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and House Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin informed that huge work in capital overhaul of 713 social and cultural facilities have been completed in the republic with the total cost of work of 15bn rubles.
On 20 December, in his address on the occasion of the Russian Security Bodies Officers Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated employees and old stagers of the service with their professional holiday and wrote: “
Throughout the history of our state, security agencies have stood guard over national interests of Russia and protected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Your high professionalism, courage and dedication to duty are a reliable shield against external and internal threats.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
