Rustam Minnikhanov: Sugar beet harvesting must be finished within 15-20 days

On October 7 during his working visit to Apastovsky and Buinsky regions Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan farmers must finish harvesting the rest 27 thousand hectares of sugar beet within 15-20 days.
At his meeting with farmers of Buinsky region Rustam Minnikhanov asked about readiness of the sugar factory. According to the enterprise’s head, the factory started its work later than usual because of reconstruction works, but it has already received 125 thousand tons of sugar beet with daily capacity of more than 4000 tons.
Addressing farm heads of Buinsky region, Rustam Minnikhanov focused on the quality of harvesting works.
He also asked farmers to focus on cattle breeding, especially on dairy farming.
Tatarstan President assured farmers that the regional leadership would continue implementing regional programmes to support rural areas and mentioned that the programme on technical modernization of Tatarstan agriculture would be launched next year.
Answering journalists’ questions after his working visit, Tatarstan President said that half of all sugar beet crops with an area of 27 thousand hectares must be harvested.
Speaking about winter crops, Tatarstan President noted favourable weather conditions.
Tatarstan President was accompanied by Vice-Premier – Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
