Aleksey Pesoshin: Tatarstan traditionally attached special attention to forest economy
On 5 June, speaking at a solemn ceremony of handing in forest fireproof and forest fire guard machinery to departmental institutions of the Forestry Ministry of the republic held in front of the building of the Traffic Safety Police with participation of the Minister of the Forest Economy of the republic Ravil Kuzyurov and the Acting Minister of Emergencies for Tatarstan Irek Kadamov, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin stated that more than 17 per cent of the area of the republic is covered by forest. “Forest is our national treasure which is “lungs” for the industrially developed republic and needs to be used properly. That is why your work is so important,” he said to forest rangers.
He said that due to well-coordinated work of more than 2 500 employees of forestry institutions, every year the republic plants more than thousands of hectares of trees and ensures protection of woods from illegal forest harvesting and wild fires.
“The forestry economy of the republic actively improves the forest protection measures system and the timely renovation of the technical basis of the branch is the key factor for this. It makes it possible to achieve high work results and preserve forests and lives of our citizens,” Aleksey Pesoshin concluded.
In total the forest rangers received 41 units of machinery, including forest patrol guard vehicles, Belarus tractors, fire water tanks and a snow and swamp-going vehicle procured within the framework of the federal project of Preservation of Forests and the Ecology National project.
In conclusion Aleksey Pesoshin thanked all employees of the branch for fruitful and creative work and added: “I am sure the ecological safety of the republic is in safe hands.”
