Representatives of the Russian State Duma study IT-experience of Tatarstan

On August 1, during his visit to the University of Innopolis, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs Yaroslav Nilov visited the University, the Innostage SOC CyberART Cyber ​​Threat Counteraction Center, got acquainted with projects in IT and cybersecurity implemented in Tatarstan and had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov in the Innopolis SEZ. The central topic of discussion between Nilov and Shaykhutdinov was social initiatives in Innopolis. Nilov got acquainted with programmes on attracting and retaining IT specialists, including housing projects, development of the transport system, urban infrastructure, the Internet of Things, unmanned and other innovative technologies.

Another important topic is the shortage of IT personnel. According to experts, in Tatarstan the shortage of IT specialists of medium and high level is 10,000, and from 900 to 1260 thousand people in Russia as a whole.

The topic of accelerated practice-oriented training of young IT personnel will become one of the central topics at the Kazan Digital Week 2024 International Forum. A section with the participation of representatives of the relevant State Duma committees is planned there to discuss legislative initiatives in this area.
