In Tatarstan Government House journalists are told about regulations of small boat navigation
On 13 August, speaking at a briefing dedicated to compliance with regulations of small boat navigation held in Tatarstan Government House will all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Chief State Inspector on small boats Yuriy Venediktov informed that more than one thousand violations of small boat navigation regulations are revealed in the republic every year, and as of today there have been 658 of them.
Giving details of the cases, he said that 234 navigators did not ensure their own and passengers safety, 218 violated swimming regulations, four drivers were drunk, 111 did not follow regulations of boat operation, 26 did not have the boat driving license and 60 violated rules of the boat registration. He urged always to wear life jackets and added: ”Events on water happen very quickly and even an experienced person cannot always wrest down a dangerous situation. Water does not forgive mistakes.”
The speaker also reminded that 50 people, including four children died in 61 swimming accidents on open water since the beginning of 2024 and listed the regulations which all small boat drivers should follow.
