Rustam Minnikhanov visits industrial estate “Erfurter Kreuz”

On October 17 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Industrial Estate "Erfurter Kreuz" during his working trip to Thuringia (Germany). Thuringia Minister of Economy, Labour and Technologies Matthias Machnig accompanied Tatarstan delegation.

The economic area “Erfurter Kreuz” includes production facilities of the largest transnational companies in the sphere of high-tech technologies. Smart production, global market orientation and ability to perform the most challenging orders are among their distinctive features.

In particular, Tatarstan President got familiar with the activity of BorgWarne company.

With 60 production centers in 18 countries, BorgWarner Transmission Systems Arnstadt GmbH focuses on developing and producing high performance transmission components and assemblies. Borg Warner is a supplier of auto components for almost all global leaders of the automotive industry.

Later, Rustam Minnikhanov discussed issues of attracting investors to industrial areas similar to “Efrurter Kreuz” with Head of Thuringia economic development agency (LEG Thuringen). “We are working with investors in a similar way, but your experience in funding investments, developing benefit systems and support programmes is of great interest to us,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted.

Tatarstan President asked Tatarstan Investment Development Agency to work out issues of cooperation with Thuringia economic development agency and create an interdepartmental group for exchanging experience.
