Aleksey Pesoshin: Tatarstan attaches great attention to development of family sports

On 14 September, speaking at a round table meeting “The Family, Traditions. Sports” held at the Volga University of Physical Training, Sport and Tourism during the sports festival “Loko. We are together” of the Russian Railways Company  held in Kazan from10 to 15 September, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that these days it is not by chance that Kazan has become the point of attraction  of the whole railway family.  Tatarstan is a link between all Russian regions in the railway infrastructure; he said and stated that Kazan has a proud name of the sports capital of Russia.

Having listed all large sports events hosted by the capital of the republic from 2013 to 2024, Aelksey Pesoshin said that the development of family sports is one of priorities if the work, including sports and physical training events held with participations of several generations of families.

“Corporate experience of the Russian Railways in family policy should be and can be used in work of all spheres of activities,” he concluded.

The Director General of the Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, who is also the Chairman of the Board of the company, thanked Tatarstan for comfortable conditions for holding the sports festival. “The topic of today’s round table is very important today as there more than 1 100 family dynasties in our company. We want to give an opportunity for doing sports to everyone who wants that. Thus today’s sports festival in Kazan has united all generations,” he added. 

In his turn Russian Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev stated that health and prosperity of the families is the key goal put forth by the Head of the state. “Of course we can feel a serious contribution made in this by the Russian Railways as together we are implementing several projects to support family sports initiatives such as the All-Russia GTO Festival of family teams.
