Lyudmila Nugumanova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science informed that 25 000 graduate students of comprehensive schools, 3300 people from primary and professional education institutions, 800 people who served in RF Armed Forces are going to pass the exam.
According to her words exams in Russian language and Maths will be compulsory in 2009. Instead of 8 exams students will have 13. Besides Russian language, Maths, Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Russian History, Social Science they will have to pass foreign language (English, German, French), Geography, Informatics and Information-communicative technologies (ICT). Besides Russian language and Maths other subjects are alternative.
According to Lyudmila Nugumanova passing of Universal State Exam after 9th form is being discussed. In 2008 testing exams were carried in Zelenodolsk and Baltasi municipal districts.
