Sugar beet harvest expected to make 2,000,000 tons in Tatarstan

On October 26 at a regional video-conference meeting at Tatarstan Government House First Deputy Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Minsagir Nurtdinov reported that sugar beet crops have harvested on 48,700 ha or 88% of the total area. As of today, 1,810,000 tons of sugar beets have been harvested, providing an average yield of 372 centners per hectare.
According to Minsagir Nurtdinov, sugar beet harvest is expected to make 2,000,000 tons. Last week, 7,600 hectares were harvested with 6,500 hectares remain to be harvested.
It is expected that in case of favorable weather conditions the harvest campaign will be finished next week.
It was reported that 1100 agricultural vehiclels are used to pick up sugar beets from the fields. About 510,00 tons of sugar beet crops have been processed (sugar plants in Zainsk, Buinsk, Nurlat).
Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food also reported on the progress of harvesting corn and sunflower crops.
Minsagir Nurtdinov said that the main soil treatment works on 1690 thousand ha or 78% have been fulfilled in Tatarstan.
The meeting was held by Tatarstan Prime-Minister Ildar Khalikov with participation of all municipalities.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
