Address from Aleksey Pesoshin on the occasion of the defeat of German troops in Stalingrad battle

On 2 February in his address on the occasion of the defeat of German troops in battle of Stalingrad, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic, war veterans and home front workers with the Day of Military Honor of Russia dedicated to this event.

“Hand and foot, showing courage and bravery every day, the defenders of Stalingrad stood to the last man and did not ley the enemy to the Volga.

The battle of Stalingrad is one of the longest and blood-shed battles in the history of humankind which took lives of hundreds of thousands of Soviet soldiers and civilians.

Self-sacrifice, courage and unbelievable fortitude of our heroes have been forever written into world history. Our sacred duty is to keep the memory and pass the truth about the great feat of people, courage and dedicated service to the Motherland from generation to generation,” he said and in conclusion wished war veterans and defenders of Stalingrad goof health, warm and cozy home and prosperity with their near and dear ones.
