Heads of regions signed the plane of measures on realization of Agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical and socio-cultural cooperation between Tatarstan and Arkhangelsk region for 2013-2016.
The document stipulates cooperation in a number of industrial, agricultural, educational and cultural fields. Thus, the shipbuilding cluster of Pomorie and Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant intends to mutually build passenger vessels with ice-strengthened hulls necessary for transportation of passengers to the most remote parts of the region. It will be useful for Arkhangelsk region and Tatarstan to exchange the experience in the sphere of innovative machine-building projects. “Arkhangelsk region has a number of agreements with other Russian regions. But the document that we signed today is the most extended and important. Our regions have a promising future in the sphere of shipbuilding, house-building and innovative technologies. We will also be able to make progress in cultural cooperation. There is the island city of Sviyazhsk in Tatarstan and Solovki in Arkhangelsk region,” Igor Orlov said.
“We have potential for extended cooperation. Pomorie needs Tatarstan oil-refining and petrochemical products and we need Arkhangelsk cellulose. The enterprises of the regions have been successfully cooperating. For example, the contractor from our republic takes part in modernization of airport complex in Arkhangelsk,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
Tatarstan President focused on long-term cultural relations between two regions. He reminded about the powerful Tatar diaspora in Arkhangelsk. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the special institute, which is engaged in training of government and municipal management employees, was created at Kazan Federal University and invited the Arkhangelsk party to come to study in Kazan.
