On 13 April in his address to residents of the republic on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote: “Today Russia is celebrating an important and meaningful holiday - the Maecenas and Benefactor Day which is the symbol of the recognition and respect of those who demonstrate generosity and bounty making the world a better place.
Our country has long-established traditions of charity and philanthropy. Help to the near ones and service to your people and country have always been the basic principles of humanity and formed the foundations of the society existence. Theaters, hospitals and schools which changed the country were built due to private support for many centuries.
This year we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in WWII. Years of the war troubled years demonstrated the unlimited generosity and kindness of our people. However, today these words are as important as never before. Hundreds of thousands of residents of Tatarstan take part in charitable projects aimed at providing maximum help to our defenders.
From the bottom of my heart I thank all benefactors and volunteers for your kindness and empathy. Deepest gratitude for your feeling the pain of the others and readiness to help.”
In conclusion Aleksey Pesoshin wished everyone good health and all the best.
