The first session of Economic Council was held in RT Cabinet

The meeting was held in RT Government House chaired by Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Prime Minister. It was devoted to work results of bank credit organizations in Tatarstan under world economic crisis conditions. Economic Council under RT Cabinet was created to control the situation in social-economic sphere.

Evgeny Bogachev, Chairman of RT National Bank, Marat Safiullin, RT Minister of Economy, Aleksander Lavrentev, the President of Enterprises and Businessmen Association commented on the situation in banking sphere. Evgeny Bogachev considers that there’re positive tendencies in Tatarstan banking sphere. People’s investments, funds at enterprises’ accounts have increased; auto and mortgage crediting have renewed. Republic is preparing a number of offers for National Bank and Government of Russian Federation aimed at improvement of the work in current situation.

Moreover, Tatarstan offers to enlarge the number of banks allowed for shares-for-loans auction, to use both Russian and international ratings for defining credit status.
Marat Safiullin told that economic situation will be monitored weekly. Aleksander Lavrentev informed that today the members of Association are interested in minimizing the consequences of world economic crisis.
