On 29 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Road Economy Farit Khanifov informed that it is planned to allocate more than 79.2bn rubles on road work in the republic in 2025.
“This money will come from all sources”, the Minister said and informed that it is planned to carry out road repairs within the framework of the national project “Infrastructure for life”, to do capital overhaul, build and reconstruct highways and artificial facilities and to repair municipalities road network with more than 30bn rubles to be allocated on this particular kind of work for the first time.
Farit Khanifov informed that in 2023, 240bn rubles was allocated on all kinds of road work in the republic in 2023 and more than 200bn in 2024.
Having informed about main highways and bridges put into operation last year, the Minister said: “The main task of 2024 is the street and road network of the republic and the Rais (Head) of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov has given an unprecedented support to this work. Never before has such amount of money been allocated in the republic.”
Farit Khanifov clarified that 14.5bn rubles has been allocated on this work in Kazan, more than 4.6bn in Naberezhnyye Chelny, more than 1.5bn in Nizhnekamsk and 9.3bn in other municipalities and emphasized that Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to take the implementation of this programme under special control.

Due to systemic work under supervision of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov the total length of highways in the republic increased and made 40 900 kilometers including 1 400 kilometers of federal highways, 13 700 kilometers of regional and 25 700 kilometers of municipal roads.
