On 9 May at a ceremony of honoring the memory of Soviet Soldiers who fought in the WWII, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Chief of Staff of the regional Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov, WWII veterans and representatives of the public patriotic and youth organizations laid flowers to graves of the fallen.
These are the soldiers who died in various evacuated hospitals of Kazan, servicemen of the Kazan garrison and other military units deployed in the city in 1941-1945.
Then participants of the ceremony laid flowers to the monument “A mourning Soldier” and honored the memory of a legendary pilot Mikhail Devyataev and the Hero of the Soviet Union Boris Kuznetsov who was a Russian military and a public leader.
