Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture Marat Zyabbarov: Sowing campaign completed in the republic

On 13 June, speaking at a regular meeting held by Tatarstan Prime minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with heads of all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing campaign has been completed in the republic and the regions have started forage conservation and preparing harvest combines to the harvest campaign.

He also informed that according to calculated options of changing the grain area 1.2m hectares will be more than enough to provide demanded 3.2m tonnes of grain while the sown area makes 1.3m hectares this year.

The regional minister said that compared to 2024 the grain crops sown area has decreased by 70 thousand hectares and that sown with technical cultures has increased by 97 thousand hectares.

Due to this increase of oil-yielding crops it is planned to have additional revenue of more than 2bn rubles, he said and added that there is a guaranteed sugar beet, sunflower and rapes sales market both in the republic and neighbouring regions.

Marat Zybbarov informed that as of 10 June the readiness of harvester-threshers is 78 per cent and the commission acceptance of the readiness of the grain harvesting complex of agribusiness is planned to be held from June 30 to July 4.

He also said that it is necessary to conserve no less than 12 centners per cattle capita from the first mowing as currently there is only 3.1 centners which is 7.8 per cent of the demanded.

The Minister informed that homestead farmers also have started forage conservation and have already conserved 36 per cent of the demand.

Addressing participants of the meeting, the Minister said that while the weather is good it is necessary to use every day completely to conserve forage for homestead farms.
