3 September 2025, Wednesday

On 3 September, congratulating residents of Tatarstan with the Day of Military Honour dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of the WWII, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Rustam Nigmatullin wrote in his address: “This date has a special meaning as the most bloodshed war of the twentieth century ended 80 years ago. After the completion of the Great Patriotic War soldiers of the Red Army continued to fight for freedom of friendly countries occupied by Japanese aggressors.

The Second World War, the most horrible in the history of the humankind which has taken millions of lives and left irreparable scars in destinies of people, ended on 2 September 1945 when Japan signed the Act of unconditional surrender.  We are infinitely grateful to the valiant front-line soldiers, home front workers and labor veterans, who, through their efforts, helped to defeat militaristic Japan and ensure peaceful skies above our heads.

I bow low to you for your heroic feat!” he wrote and in conclusion wished everyone good health and long and happy years of life and family prosperity.
