Tatarstan President: “We want to cooperate with Kyzylorda Province in every area”

On November 29 at his meeting with Kyzyloda Province delegation led by the governor Krymbek Kusherbayev at the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Kyzyloda Province has high potential and Tatarstan leadership is interested in development cooperation with the province in particular and Kazakhstan in general.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted active cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan. “We are grateful to Russian President Vladimir Putin and leader of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev for providing favourable conditions for interregional cooperation within the framework of dynamically developing Russian-Kazakhstan relations,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He noted that the annual trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan makes about 1 bln rubles.
Among prospective areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kyzyloda Province Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out innovations, oil production and petrochemistry, engineering industry, agriculture and IT-sector. According to Tatarstan President, Tatarstan specialists could provide IT-services for Baiykonur located in Kyzyloda Province.
The international transport corridor “Europe-West China”, which will go through Tatarstan and Kazakhstan, unite Russian and Kazakhstan regions. “The project will favour development of your region,” Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Krymbek Kusherbayev.
Tatarstan President reminded that next year’s Kazakhstan Sabantuy would be held in Kyzyl Orda and said that Tatarstan delegation would surely attend the holiday.
Rustam Minnikhanov called to expand existing relations in the sphere of education and foster student exchange between universities of Tatarsan and Kyzyloda Province.
“Our cultures, religion and languages have much in common and are the basis of our relations. We are ready and have serious intentions for cooperation in every area and will provide the most favourable conditions for our collaboration,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
The governor of Kyzyloda Province Krymbek Kusherbayev, in his turn, said that he was impressed by Tatarstan’s achievements in different areas.
According to the governor, the Common economic area brought a new impetus to development of interregional relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.
Krymbek Kusherbayev invited Rustam Minnikhano to visit Kyzyloda Province and Baikanur Space Center in particular.
Answering journalists’ questions after the meeting, Tatarstan President said: “Kyzyloda Province has high potential and we would like to cooperate in every area.”
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
