Rustam Minnikhanov: “Non-profit organizations are a serious partner of the state”

On December 2, speaking at a plenary session of II regional forum of socially oriented non-profit organizations in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that such organizations are a serious partner of the state in solving regional tasks.

More than 1000 people took part in II regional forum, including representatives of non-profit organizations from all Tatarstan municipalities, social councils of regional ministries, agencies and municipalities, experts and representatives of federal agencies.

Issues of cooperation between socially-oriented non-profit organizations, government and local authorities, participation of non-profit organizations in social-economic development of regional municipalities, and holding of an exhibition of the best socially-oriented projects were discussed within the framework of the forum.

Chairman of Tatarstan Public Chamber Anatoly Fomin made a report on the work of socially-oriented non-profit organizations in the republic.

Director of the Department of Innovative Development of Russian Ministry of Economic Development Artem Shadrin noted that Tatarstan is the region with a developed system of socially-oriented non-profit organizations and is among top five leading regions in this regard.

Summing up results of the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the region’s social life has considerably changed. The role of veterans, youth, religious, national, and creative associations has increased.

Non-profit organizations should be supported by the government at all levels, he said.

Tatarstan President informed that financial support of non-profit organizations for 2014-2016 will make about 1 bln rubles.

At the end of the session Tatarstan President presented certificates to representatives of non-profit organizations, laureates of the contest of socially-oriented non-profit organizations for receiving regional budgetary subsidies.
