On February 3, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of opening XXI All-Russia competitions in fire-rescue sports for the Cup of the Tatarstan Prime Minister, held in the gym of the Chief Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan with participation of 21 teams from various regions of Russia - a total of about 430 people.
Pesoshin emphasized that Tatarstan places great emphasis on developing various sports, both mass and professional, expanding the sports infrastructure, including for fire and rescue sports and for enhancing the status of this discipline, competitions have been held under the auspices of Tatarstan Government since 2004 and become increasingly popular.
He emphasized that fire and rescue sports competitions promote a healthy lifestyle among children and young people. "I'm confident that the competition will be a significant event for many of you and will help you take a confident step toward professional achievement," Pesoshin added.
The competition is held in three types of fire and rescue sports – an assault course, a hook ladder and snatch. Winners will be determined in team and individual competitions.
