Agreement on friendly relations between Tatarstan and Shandong province was signed in China

According to Iskander Muflikhanov, Aide to Prime Minister on foreign economic activity the agreement was signed by Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Prime Minister and Jiang Daming, the Governor of Shandong province.

Tatarstan delegation was presented by Timur Akulov, State Advisor on International affairs under RT President, Director of Department for external relations under RT President, Marat Khusnullin, RT Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing, Marat Bariev, RT Minister of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism, Ilsur Metshin, Kazan Mayor.

On May, 15 of 2008 Tatarstan and Shandong government signed Agreement in the sphere of trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.

Shandong – one of the most economically developed provinces in China. According to gross regional product it’s the second province in China. The population is 91,8 million people. Moreover, Shandong is an important energy base in China. Oil field “Shenley” is the second base in China according to oil production volume. Besides, Shandong has well-developed agricultural sector which ensures high volumes of agricultural production in the country (grain crops, cotton, oil-bearing plants).
