Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in session of organizing committee on holding XVI world aquatics championship 2015 in Kazan

On December 17 Russian Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko held a session of organizing committee on holding XVI world aquatics championship 2015 in Kazan (Moscow). Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event through video conferencing mode from Tatarstan Government House.
At the beginning of the session Vitaly Mutko noted that the experience of holding Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan gave reason to believe that XVI world aquatics championship 2015 would be organized at a high level.
Head of Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Vladimir Leonov made a report on main aspects of World Aquatics Championship 2015 in Kazan. In particular, he said that such championship will be held in Russia for the first time. It is a great responsibility, Vladimir Leonov added. He reminded that the previous World Aquatics Championship was held in Barcelona (Spain) in June 2013. Athletes competed for 68 sets of awards.
World Aquatics Championship will be held in Kazan from July 24 to August 9, 2015. It is expected that 2.500 participants, 2.000 officials, representatives from 180-185 countries will come to take part in event.
The championship will feature six aquatics disciplines: swimming, open water and synchronized swimming, water polo, high diving (women jump from 20 meters and men jump from 27 meters). High diving discipline made its debut at XX Technical FINA Congress and has been officially included in the aquatics championship programme starting from 2013.
Athletes will compete for 70 sets of awards in Kazan, which is the record number in the whole history of the championship.
In 2015 World Aquatics Masters Championship will also be held in Kazan from August 2 to 16.
Vladimir Leonov said that FINA representatives already arrived in Kazan from September 23 to 27 and on October 10 for inspection purposes.
It is expected that Universiade village will be used to accommodate participants of the championship.
According to Vladimir Leonov, it is expected that trial High Diving World Cup will be held in Kazan in 2014.
Later, participants of the session discussed technical requirements to the equipment and other issues.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
