Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in session of the Council under Presidential envoy in Volga Federal District

On December 19 Russian Presidential Envoy to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich held a session of the Council of Volga Federal District on executing Russian Government Edict “On approving plan of actions under the Strategy of state national policy of Russian Federation till 2025 in 2013-2015” in Ulyanovsk.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin presented the Republic of Tatarstan at the session.
Opening the event, Mikhail Babich said that the meeting on implementing regional programmes aimed at harmonization of interethnic relations in Volga Federal District was the final one this year. He underlined that in our multiethnic country we should put more emphasis on solving problems connected with interethnic and interconfessional policy.
Mikhail Babich reminded that last year, on December 19, Russian President approved the “Strategy of state national policy of Russian Federation till 2025”. He also told that some suggestions made at the session of Presidential Council on October 22, 2013 were included in the list of President’s orders.
One of them concerns development of scientific and methodology base of Islamic higher educational institutions in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, measures aimed at developing three-level system of Islamic education, and establishment of federal centre of analysis and monitoring interethnic and interconfessional relations.
Moreover, the federal law that stipulates liability of heads of regions and municipalities for interethnic and interconfessional relations was signed.
Mikhail Babich believes that in general the situation in confessional life of Volga Federal District is stable and is controlled both on regional and federal levels. However, he reminded about incidents that happened in Saratov and Nurlat regions. Though the situation was taken under control, it is now important to prevent incitement of ethnic dissensions and protest moods.
According to Russian Presidential Envoy to Volga Federal District, measures are being taken to analyse the situation, deal with problems and provide equal living conditions for people regardless of their religions and nationalities.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
