On 24 July in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tatneftekhiminvest-holding, with the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Director General of the holding Rafinat Yarullin taking part in it.
The meeting listened to the report of results of work of the oil and gas complex of the republic in the first half of the current year and considered several advanced projects.
Thus the Director General of the Makrokom Company from Chelyabinsk Radiy Kanzafarov told about opportunities of a strategic partnership of companies developing and manufacturing modern polymer compounds from micro-marble, zeolite and their mixtures to be used in production of packaging and construction materials, pipe manufacture, goods for oil and gas industry, agriculture and housing utilities sector. He proposed to organize a polymer hub in the republic which will be a center uniting raw material manufacturers, research organizations and industrial enterprises of the region.
Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to ramp up interaction with this company and in the nearest future to send a delegation from the republic to study new spheres of cooperation.
The Director General of the Engineering Polymers Company from Moscow Aleksandr Zabolotny reported about prospects of manufacturing medical ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMW) which is used as an artificial cartilage in production of large joint endo-prosthetics. He said that the project is of practical importance to the republic as it enables enterprises to be supplied with domestic raw materials thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Russian products.
Rustam Minnikhanov highly appreciated the relevance of the product and gave an errand to consider this use together with the regional Ministry of Healthcare.
After the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) made a presentation of its capacity and work, the Rais of Tatarstan noted that it is necessary to study the experience of their engineering schools and museums and to send children and students there for knowledge exchange. ”This is a high-tech high quality enterprise. We are major consumers of metals as we have a lot of construction activity. We need to work out how to bring UMMC closer to our republic,” he concluded.
