20 January 2014, Monday
On January 20 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, and Counsellor to Russian Prosecutor General Aleksandr Gavrilov took part in a session of Tatarstan prosecution bodies on results of work in 2013.

Speaking at the session, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that last year was not easy for the republic, and everyone had to work hard. “Together we managed to hold Universiade at the highest level, ensure overall safety and public order. Employees of prosecution bodies made a considerable contribution controlling execution of normative and legal acts timely and strictly. Thank you for that,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President focused on tasks to be fulfilled by employees of prosecution bodies this year. In particular, much attention should be paid to interaction with law enforcement bodies.

Speaking about counteracting extremism and terrorism, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded about incidents that happened last year in Tatarstan, and called for making timely assessments. Special attention should be paid to media publications that contain incorrect and provocative information.

Issues of migration legislation also need to be constantly controlled, the President said.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned observance of legislation in housing and utility sector and labour legislation saying that it should be thoroughly controlled by prosecution bodies.

Rustam Minnikhanov also complained about one-size-fits-all approach to processing citizens’ appeals.

Summing up, Tatarstan President reminded about State Council elections to be held this year and asked to provide observance of laws during the election campaign.
