Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Ambassadors of Africa to Russia

On January 25 at their meeting at the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassadors of Africa to Russia discussed prospects of cooperation with African countries.
To the point, a representative delegation of ambassadors, ministers-counsellors and representatives of embassies of African countries in Russia (18 people) are staying in Kazan for two days.
The guests have already visited Kazan Federal University, IT lyceum, sports venues and the Kazan Kremlin.
Welcoming members of the delegation, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked them for the interest towards Tatarstan and its economy. The visit of such a representative delegation is an important event for the republic, he said. He added that Russia has been always interested in development of partner relationships with African countries.
There are many areas for potential cooperation between Africa and Tatarstan as one of Russian regions, such as oil industry, engineering, helicopter industry, education, tourism, culture and sport. Rustam Minnikhanov believes that educational cluster may be the most prospective area of cooperation.
Rustam Minnikhanov invited members of African delegation to take part in KazanSummit 2014 on June 5-6.
The ambassadors and representatives of embassies, in their turn, thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for organisation of their visit to Kazan and high-level reception.
Proposals on cooperation in industrial, chemical, educational, and agricultural sectors were made during the meeting.
Representatives of some African countries were also interested in participation in KazanSummit 2014. It was also proposed to organize a business mission to study the potential of African countries.
Representatives of Ethiopia, Cote d'Ivoire, Mauritius, Guinea – Bissau, the Republic of Chad, Tunis and Mozambique came up with their partnership proposals.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
