Ildar Khalikov: “Absence of epidemics and major accidents is the main result of work of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare”

On January 29 at a summary session of Tatarstan Department of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that the main positive result was that no epidemics and major accidents were registered in Tatarstan cities and regions in 2013.
Head of Tatarstan Department of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Marina Patyashina made a keynote report, noting that successful holding of summer Universiade in Kazan was the main result of the department’s work in 2013. 290 specialists worked at Universiade venues, 16 thousand laboratory analyses were done during the competitions with 63 out-of-specification samples revealed.
According to Marina Patyashina, the Middle Kaban lake was cleaned due to Universiade.
Head of Tatarstan Department of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare noted the decrease in the number of infectious diseases.
It was noted that despite considerable financial investment, the quality of drinking water is not becoming better.
Marina Patyashina continued that after Russia joined the WTO, control over imported food was intensified.
6787 requests connected with violation of consumer rights were received by Tatarstan Department of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare in 2013. 70 per cent of them were reasonable. Fines for the sum of 11 mln rubles were imposed.
Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Artem Sidorov made reports on interaction with the Department of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
