Rustam Minnikhanov: “Development of small and medium-size entrepreneurship is impossible without providing necessary conditions in every city and region”

On February 5 at a joint session of Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Economy Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of small and medium-size entrepreneurship is impossible without providing necessary conditions in every city and region.
The session "Innovative development of enterprises - the basis of competitive growth of regional economy" was held at International Information Centre (Universiade Village, Kazan) and broadcast online on the official Government Portal (http://prav.tatarstan.ru/).
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, deputies of State Duma, members of the Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly, employees of ministries and agencies, Tatarstan enterprises, Director of the Department for special economic zones and projects of regional development of Russian Ministry of economic development Andrey Sokolov, and Director of the Department for development of small and medium-size entrepreneurship Natalia Larionova took part in the event.
Speaking at the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the share of small and medium-size entrepreneurship in GRP makes only 25 per cent instead of planned 34 per cent. He suggested introducing the standard of local self-government for creating favourable investment climate.
Rustam Minnikhanov focused on development of infrastructure sites in the republic, noting that there are 10 industrial sites in Tatarstan now. In particular, he mentioned special economic zone “Innopolis”, industrial park “Chistopol”, Kama industrial park “Master”, technopolis “Himgrad”, high technology park “IT park”.
“Oil industry is the basis of Tatarstan economy. We have to produce not less than 32 mln tons of oil. We are also developing bitumen production, and we have to produce 800 thousand tons. Another perspective area is production of shale oil,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Speaking about “growth points”, Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out oil processing and petrochemistry, and engineering.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked heads and employees of enterprises, who achieved certain economic results, and presented several state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
