Rustam Minnikhanov: Hydrogen energetics will be of high priority in the nearest 5-10 years

On February 17 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a board session of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvestholding” at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers.
Professor of A.E.Arbuzov Institute of organic and physical chemistry of Kazan research centre Marsil Kadirov told about prospects of fuel elements. He reminded that the notion “Hydrogen energetics” appeared in mid 70s. The speaker also noted unlimited stock of hydrogen and its transport flexibility. Hydrogen is the best power storage and the most environmentally friendly fuel.
However, according to Marsil Kadirov, there is a common opinion in our country that it is a developmental dead end of power industry. He believes the main problem is replacement of precious metals by cheap catalysts. Kazan scientists offer solution to the problem, but they need a special research centre.
Rustam Minnikhanov said this issue will be very urgent in the nearest future, and ideology of engine manufacturing can completely change. He suggested studying international practices in this sphere.
The speech of Director General of High Technology Park “Idea” Sergey Yushko was dedicated to the most prospective resident – ZAO “Innovation and Production Technology Park “Idea” that was founded 10 years ago. He told that the amount of investments made 760 mln rubles. There are 105 residents currently working on its territory.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded this high-tech enterprise and a smart competence centre once used to be a bankrupt factory.
Deputy Head of Tatarstan Security Service Oleg Nazarov told about measures on increasing anti-terrorist safety of Tatarstan oil-gas and chemical enterprises.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
