Tatarstan President: “Development of the republic depends on Nizhnekamsk region”

On February 18 at a session of the local council of Nizhnekamsk region Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Nizhnekamsk region is important for economic development of Tatarstan.
Before the session Tatarstan President visited multi-purpose centre where 100 state services are rendered. He also discussed development of multi-purpose centres with Director of the Department of state economic regulation of Russian Ministry of Economic Development Aleksey Khersontsev.
Head of Nizhnekamsk region Aidar Metshin made report on social and economic development of the region. 272 thousand people live in Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk region, he said. Maximum number of children were born in 2013 (4145), natural population increase made 1649 people.
Speaking about development of health industry, Aidar Metshin told that a perinatal department was opened at children’s city hospital.
574 places were provided in kindergartens under the regional programme.
130 thousand m² of housing were commissioned in 2013.
According to Mayor of Nizhnekamsk, 2013 was not easy in terms of economic development. Industrial production increased only by 1.2 per cent, 41.5 per cent is the share of oil production, 37.5 per cent accounts for chemical production, 11.9 per cent - for production of rubber and plastic products.
Aidar Metshin also noted one of the most important personnel changes - resignation of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Director General Vladimir Busygin. He thanked Vladimir Busygin for his hard long service for the goof of the enterprise.
Aidar Metshin continued that alongside with development of major enterprises, the share of small and medium-size business makes only 17.9 per cent.
As for agricultural sector, there are five big agricultural organisations, 80 farmsteads and 35 family farms. Gross output of local agricultural industry made 2.75 mln rubles.
Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, noted the importance of Nizhnekamsk region for Tatarstan, saying that is a petrochemical centre of our country. The share of Nizhnekamsk region in Tatarstan GRP makes 9 per cent.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked local citizens for their help during world summer Universiade in Kazan.
Summing up, Tatarstan President said that Tatarstan economic development to a large extent depends on projects being implemented in Nizhnekamsk. He also noted that implementation of all regional social and economic programmes will be continued.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
