Rustam Minnikhanov: A lot of criminal cases, that had resonance not only in the republic but outside of it, were heard in 2013

On February 21 at a seminar-meeting of chairmen of district (city) courts and representatives of magistrates Chairman of Tatarstan Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov reported that 807,697 cases were heard in Tatarstan courts in 2013, which is 26% more than in 2012.
The seminar meeting was devoted to results of work in 2013 and held at the Grand Hotel Kazan. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of Ministry of Internal Affairs Artem Khokhorin, Tatarstan Prosecutor Ildus Nafikov, Ministry of Justice Larisa Glukhova, representatives of law-enforcement bodies, Office of Tatarstan President and other officials took part in the meeting.
Making a keynote report, Chairman of Tatarstan Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov noted that 98,889 cases were heard last year. According to him, about 60% of crimes were committed by people without permanent income, home and already convicted. It was reported that 16,601 people were convicted in 2013 (17,090 people in 2012). Moreover, 5,282 criminals were given a suspended sentence and 1,590 people were sentenced to corrective work. Speaking about crimes, Ilgiz Gilazov reported that 30 percent of them are thefts, 5 percent – threats of homicide, 6 percent – malicious evasions of payment of alimony, 6 percent – robberies, 10 percent – illegal drug activity.
Ilgiz Gilazov also reported that there are 701 judges of general jurisdiction, including 188 magistrates in the republic.
Head of Administration of Justice Department Zyavdat Salikhov reported on work of the department. In particular, he reminded that Tatarstan would become one of the first regions in the country, where the information and analytic center of the State automated system “Justice” will be created.
Speaking at the session, Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, reminded a great number of cases were heard in 2013 and judges had a lot of work to do. The court has the last word in resolution of any disputes, Rustam Minnikhanov said. A lot of criminal cases, that had resonance not only in the republic but outside of it, were heard last year, he added.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov presented some state awards to workers of city and district courts of the republic.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects.
