Tatarstan President about Nurlat region: “Achieving your goal is more important than focusing on the current situation”

On February 21 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, Chairman of the Council of Municipalities Minsagit Shakirov, and Tatneft Director General Nail Maganov took part in session of local council of Nurlat region on results of social and economic development in 2013 and setting tasks for 2014.
Head of the region Ravil Kuzyurov made a keynote report at the session. He informed that consolidated budget income made 1,27 bln rubles, average salary increased by 15.3 per cent and made 23 664 rubles. 83 per cent of economically active population works at big and medium-size enterprises, 17 – at small and medium-size enterprises. 10 oil companies are currently working in the region. Nurlat sugar refinery is a strategic enterprise for the region.
Ravil Kuzyurov addressed Rustam Minnikhanov with request to help in attracting investments for modernization of out-of-date equipment.
Speaking about agricultural sector, head of the region told that there are 9.5 thousand private farms. Proceeds of agricultural organisations made 1 bln 138 mln rubles, 22 thousand rubles less than in 2012.
Commenting on results of social and economic development of the region, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that demographic situation improved.
Tatarstan President criticized poor results in the sphere of small business development.
According to results of 2013, Nurlat region takes 16th place in rating of social and economic situation of municipal regions.
“Achieving your goal is more important than focusing on the current situation. Your results are not the worst, but they should be better,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov called local leadership for paying attention to prevention of religious extremism and migration.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
