Rustam Minnikhanov: "Skolkovo foundation creates innovative environment in regions"

On February 28 at a round table session on results of first rounds of startup tour 2014 within the framework of Krasnoyarsk economic forum Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Russian Startup Tour project implemented by Skolkovo foundation creates innovative environment in regions.
Vide-Premier of Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich and President of Skolkovo foundation Viktor Vekselberg took part in the session.
Russian Startup Tour 2014 is a road show of representatives of innovative economy that is held in 26 Russian cities. Representatives of development institutions visit regions to see presentations of innovative projects. 13 cities have already taken part in Startup Tour 2014. More than 4 thousand innovators took part in regional tours. 85 projects were chosen for further implementation.
“The main purpose is to favour implementation of new projects, unite innovative and business communities, and give opportunity to talented people to realize their ideas. Economic growth depends on your success,” Arkady Dvorkovich said.
“Last year Skolkovo foundation set the task to present opportunities of development institutions in regions, and today participants of the tour set more ambitious tasks, such as promotion of their solutions at Russian and international markets,” Viktor Vekselberg noted. He added that commercialization of innovative ideas requires engineering centres and government support.
Viktor Vekselberg thanked heads of regions for organisation of startup tours.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said he liked the idea of startup tours, and noted that participation of higher educational institutions is also important for successful innovative activity.
Two projects, winners of startup tour in Krasnoyarsk, were presented at the round table session.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
