Rustam Minnikhanov: Peace, interethnic and interconfessional concord are most important for Crimea now

On March 5 during his working trip to Simferopol, Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that peace, interethnic and interconfessional concord are most important for Crimea now.
Later on the same day First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksei Pesoshin and First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Autonomous Republic of Crimea Rustam Timergaliev signed Agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that meetings of Tatarstan delegation in Verkhovna Rada and Council of Ministers were held during his working trip to Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
“We are going to hold many meetings, with Crimean Tatars as well to discuss economic cooperation. Tatarstan and Crimea have long-term relations in business and tourism spheres.
“Crimea is a very attractive region for investors, and we are willing to implement joint projects in different spheres. Tatarstan is one of the most industrially developed regions in Russia today. Our produce is in demand here. We are ready to cooperate in health care industry and sport as well,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Commenting on the situation with Crimean Tatars, Rustam Minnikhanov noted: “They are our brothers, and they have experienced an awful tragedy. We can’t stay indifferent to their fate. For sure, I am going to meet with them and discuss the situation.”

On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
