8 March 2014, Saturday
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated women on the International Women’s Day:

“Dear women! From the bottom of my heart I would like to congratulate you on the International Women’s Day! We celebrate this holiday with first spring sunbeams, filling our hearts with the highest feelings. Giving emotional warmth, lovings to relatives and friends, women bring light, peace and comfort to our world.

Nature has endowed you with beauty, tenderness and kindness. Women give us birth, keep family hearth with care, cultivate moral and spiritual values, and love to native language and ancestral traditions.

Enigmatic and unique woman’s character has always inspired poets, artists and musicians, who praised the fair in their pieces of art. Today, in the century of high technologies you are still the model of perfection and inner harmony.

All citizens of our country are proud of victories of our athletes at 27th World Summer Universiade in Kazan and Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. We are delighted at your achievements in the sphere of education, science, business, industry and agriculture.

In the Year of culture I would especially like to note women, who devoted themselves to the beautiful, who arouse high feelings, and let people learn about rich historical and cultural heritage of our multi-ethnic people.

Owing to our mothers, wives and sisters we have all the best, good and sacred. Tatarstan citizens are grateful to veterans, who bore the burden of the terrible murderous war. Next year we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. In this regard I wish our heroic women health and long life, optimism and care of surrounding people.

I am sure that every woman will hear many nice greetings today. Let your hearts be filled with good feelings, love and joy, and the 8th of March bring lots of smiles and flowers!

Happy holiday, dear women!

Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov.”
