Ildar Khalikov visits Bombardier plant in Montreal

On March 13, during his working trip to Canada Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov visited Bombardier production facilities in Montreal.
To the point, Bombardier Aerospace is a world leader in design and manufacture of civil, commercial, special-purpose and amphibious aircrafts. With headquarters in Montreal, the company has manufacturing sites around the world. Bombardier Aerospace is the world’s third largest manufacturer of civil aircrafts after Boeing and Airbus.
Looking around Bombardier plant, Ildar Khalikov and his party got acquainted with all production stages of Bombardier business-jets. To the point, it takes 11-12 months to manufacture one tailor-made jet.
Challenger 605 (passenger capacity – 8-13) and Challenger 300 (passenger capacity 8-10) aircrafts were demonstrated to Ildar Khalikov in the showroom.
Tatarstan delegation also looked around workshops, where lean manufacturing programme is being implemented.
Speaking about cooperation between Bombardier and Tatarstan, it was said that Tatarstan (in particular, Ak Bars Aero) has 15 CRJ 200 and six Challenger aircrafts. Ak Bars Aero is the third company in Russia by number of Bombardier aircrafts in own flying stock.

An agreement to increase Bombardier aircraft maintenance base (Bombardier service center was opened in Tatarstan in August 2012) was signed at Tatarstan Government House with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov on April 16, 2013. The agreement presupposes setting up a line maintenance facility for Challenger 300 and Challenger 850 aircrafts, which are being operated in Tatarstan and Volga District.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
