Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov meets with compatriots living in Canada

On March 13 during his working trip to Canada, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with compatriots living in Canada (Toronto, Canada Eurasia and Russia Business Association). Before that he took part in a round table with Tatarstan and Canadian businessmen.
Students and postgraduates who study at Canadian universities, activists of Tatar communities from big North American cities, and compatriots who keep in touch with small motherland took part in the meeting.
Ildar Khalikov noted that Canada is an important economic and business partner of Tatarstan, and members of Tatar community help developing cooperation. He also said that trade representative of the Republic of Tatarstan works in Canada to facilitate development of closer relationships with the Republic of Tatarstan.
Ildar Khalikov continued that a special channel “TNV-planet” was created for compatriots living abroad, to maintain Tatar traditions and language and revival of cultural and spiritual values. He also reminded about online school for learning the Tatar language “Ana tele”.
Compatriots living in Canada, in their turn, told about Tatar communities in Toronto and Montreal that unite Tatars and help to maintain national identity. Sabantui holiday has been celebrated in Toronto since 2004. They also suggested organizing days of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in big North American cities, and maintain close cooperation with Tatarstan in the sphere of education and culture.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
