Rustam Minnikhanov: “I am sure that Russia-Japan Investment Forum will give new impetus to our relationships”

On March 19 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 6th Russia-Japan Investment Forum in New Otani hotel (Tokyo).
The forum is organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
Round tables on the most topical issues connected with Russia-Japan economic relations will be held within the framework of the forum. In particular, much emphasis will be put on cooperation in the sphere of energy saving, automotive industry, innovations, medicine, transport and infrastructure. Also, Russian investment agricultural projects will be presented.
A number of investment agreements will be signed.
Representatives of Russian and Japan authorities, regions and prefectures, executives of large national corporations, financial institutes, research and public organisations took part in a panel discussion entitled 'Improving the investment climate in Russia and opening new areas for investment cooperation between Russia and Japan'.
Moderator of the discussion, observer of NHK TV channel Ichiyo Ishikawa reminded about the main objectives of the forum, - to facilitate the development and growth of trade links and to attract investment.
Introducing Rustam Minnikhanov, Ichiyo Ishikawa said that the Republic of Tatarstan is a highly developed region where road maps aimed at economic modernization are really implemented.
Rustam Minnikhanov confirmed that Tatarstan aims to create innovative economy integrated into global economy. He assured participants of the forum that all conditions for successful work are provided for investors in the republic: a developed infrastructure, land plots, developed road maps, highly professional personnel, and maximum attention on the part of regional government.
Rustam Minnikhanov told about implementation of major investment projects in Kama cluster, Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, and Innopolis innovative site. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Japanese companies have long been working with Tatarstan partners in petrochemical, oil processing, engineering, and IT industries.
“Full understanding of regional authorities, competitive conditions, ready-made infrastructure guarantee successful prospective mutually beneficial cooperation. I am sure that Russia-Japan Investment Forum will give new impetus to our relationships and attraction of investments,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
