25 March 2014, Tuesday
On March 25 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated cultural workers on professional holiday.
“Dear workers of culture and art!
I would like to congratulate you on professional holiday - the Day of cultural worker! Unique national and cultural traditions of Tatar, Russian and other nations have been closely interacting for many centuries in Tatarstan. We put much emphasis on development of culture. Tatarstan citizens remember solemn events dated to outstanding cultural workers held in the Year of culture and art, and Year of Gabdulla Tukay.
Many ideas are being realized in the Year of culture in Tatarstan and the whole country. Our millennium city is considered to be one of cultural capitals of Russia. Such events as Nuriev Ballet Festival, Shalyapin Opera Festival, Rachmaninov Festival “White lilac”, theatre festival of Turkic peoples “Nauruz”, and youth festival “Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk” have become real internationally known cultural brands.
Unique projects on reconstruction of historical and cultural monuments in Bolgar and Sviyazhsk are being implemented in Tatarstan. Complex reconstruction of Kazan historical centre is underway.
Rapid development of the republic would be impossible without reliance on our rich traditions and careful attitude to spiritual origins. Tatarstan citizens are proud of achievements of their outstanding compatriots, whose names were included in gold pool of world culture.
Special emphasis is put on development of national cultures, language and traditional religious and spiritual values. I am glad that in 2014 our ancient Kazan was granted the status of cultural capital of Turkic world that will help consolidating relations between brotherly nations and enter new level of cooperation.
No doubt, we should express gratitude to thousands of workers of culture and art, who are making considerable contribution to spiritual and aesthetic development of Tatarstan society. Our leading professional artistic groups, theatres, museums, educational institutions are known far outside the republic.
Being a part of the global cultural environment, we are developing civil society in a highly patriotic spirit and true creativity, implementing multi-cultural projects, and forming solid principles for future generations.
I would like to express gratitude to those, devoted to culture and art, thank you for your hard professional work. I wish you strong health, inspiration, optimism, and new artistic achievements!
