Two-month sanitary and ecological campaign to start in Tatarstan

On March 25, at a briefing at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Artem Sidorov reported that all environmental agencies, relevant ministries and departments, executive municipal committees will proceed to two-month sanitary and ecological campaign to clean up grounds from April 1 until the end of May.
“The strict observance of the environmental legislation in the field of waste management will be the main focus during this period,” the speaker pointed out.
“The supervisory activities will be done in stages, including industrial zones, trade facilities and public places. The preparatory works will finish this week,” the official noted.
As for the hard-to-reach places, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources will use small aircrafts as well as electronic services and mobile communication devices to receive citizens’ appeals and keep in contact with the public.
Currently, an inventory of waste disposal facilities is being done, the sites are being prepared to receive additional waste, and the work on organizing the waste removal at industrial and housing districts is organized.
To the point, in 2013, Tatarstan environmental agencies revealed and suppressed more than 10,000 violations of the environmental legislation. Over 6,000 administrative offence reports were issued, with the fines amounted to 18 million roubles. Moreover, 1,419 of 1,595 waste disposal sites found to be unauthorized were liquidated.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
