Dmitry Medvedev meets with students of Kazan State Power Engineering University

On March 26 during his working trip to Kazan, Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev met with students of Kazan State Power Engineering University.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich took part in the meeting.

Dmitry Medvedev answered students’ questions, one of which was if industry-based universities can receive government support. He reminded that eight years ago the course was set for supporting leading universities, noting that regions and companies interested in specialists and improvement of the quality of education will also render support.

Students of Kazan State Power Engineering University suggested organizing student construction brigades to work in Crimea. Dmitry Medvedev supported the idea.

Foreign students studying at Kazan State Power Engineering University asked about increase of quotas for foreign students willing to study in Russia.

Answering the question, Dmitry Medvedev said that quotas for foreign students were never decreased in Russia, and promised to consider the issue, because students, who study in Russia, facilitate establishment of friendly relations between countries afterwards.

Answering the question about how to achieve success in political field, Dmitry Medvedev said: “You should do well in studies, and think less about achieving political success.”
