Members of Tatarstan delegation meet with Vice-President of Dubai World Central Tahnun Saif

On April 8 members of Tatarstan delegation met with Vice-President of Dubai World Central Tahnun Saif within the framework of IV Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Dubai.
To the point, at AIM 2014 Tatarstan delegation is presented by Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Chief executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, trade and economic representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in United Arab Emirates Timur Khairutdinov, Director General of OAO “Special economic zone “Innopolis” Igor Nosov, Head of Laishevo region Mikhail Afanasiev, Board Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageev, and Director of the International airport “Kazan” Aleksey Starostin.
Dubai World Central (DWC) is a big master-planned aerotropolis, one of the best examples of using airport surrounding area. Located in Jebel Ali, not far from the river port, it is connected with Al Maktoum International Airport via Dubai logistics corridor, and all main highways. A high-speed railway line will also pass through its territory.
For Tatarstan Dubai World Central is interesting as an example of international experience in developing models of aerotropolis.
“If Tatarstan will be developing airport area basing on aerotropolis model, it will become a leading regional hub,” Mr Tahnun Saif said.
Chief executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, in his turn, said that international experience of working with potential investors is interesting for the republic, and DWC experience may be useful in implementation of the investment project “Smart City Kazan”.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
