Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in solemn launching of construction of two plants at SEZ “Alabuga”

On April 10 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Havi Logistics Europe Haluk Ilkdemirci, Huhtamaki Vice-President, Eastern Europe Kim Aganimov, Director of McDonald's Russia Alexey Semenov, Director General of SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev, Head of Elabuga region Gennady Emelyanov took part in solemn launching of construction of industrial distribution centre OOO “Havi Logistics Elabuga”, and disposable cutlery and paper packaging manufacturing plant “Huhtamaki Foodservice Alabuga” at SEZ “Alabuga”.
The industrial distribution centre Havi Logistics will include several manufacturers of food, tableware, and packaging. McDonald's will be company’s main customer. The area of storage facilities will make 5832 m², administrative - 1080 m². It was noted that 25500 tonnes of produce per year will be processed at the distribution centre.
It is expected that the distribution centre will help to provide delivery of products to McDonald's restaurants in central and eastern parts of Russia, and attract a lot of manufacturers of food and inedible produce, McDonald's partners, to SEZ “Alabuga”.
Disposable cutlery and paper packaging will be produced at the second enterprise, “Huhtamaki Foodservice Alabuga”. The Finnish company Huhtamaki offers producing disposable paper cups in the amount of 641 million items per year for McDonald's restaurants. Production is to be launched in 2015.
In connection with rapid development of public catering services, and opening of McDonald's restaurants in the Eastern part of Russia, the company supported the idea of creating a Food Town at SEZ “Alabuga”.
McDonald's long standing partners, Havi Logistics and Huhtamaki Foodservice, will become a part of the industrial distribution complex.
“I am glad to be present at such an important event today. We are laying the foundation stone of new enterprises – residents of SEZ “Alabuga”. We are forming new cluster here,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, speaking at the ceremony. He briefly told about development of SEZ “Alabuga”, and thanked Russian Ministry of Economic Development and OAO “Special Economic Zones” for their support rendered to SEZ “Alabuga”.
Tatarstan President noted that there are two special economic zones developing in the republic now, - SEZ “Alabuga”, and SEZ “Innopolis”.

On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
